A new Civil Protection platform has been set up on Mount Etna to inform citizens about the various risks in the area. The platform will include an app and other tools, with geo-referenced maps and active citizen engagement. The result offers a possible model for application on a national level, and a unique function in Italy: “take me somewhere safe”, giving guided navigation towards the closest waiting area (especially useful for tourists and visitors).
