What role do scientists play in the process of disarmament and the abolition of war? What is the environmental, economic, social, ethical and human footprint of (cyber) war? From Russell-Einstein’s poster to the recent banning of atomic weapons in UN resolution 71/258, passing by a new type of “cyberweapons” whose effects are and will increasingly be similar to those of weapons of mass destruction. The only, Utopian, solution is to abolish war, and give up weapons.
