Beck’s life had always been perfect, despite the emptiness she felt over the loss of her Dad: amazing best friends, a caring mother and Ben, a little brother who adores her. Nothing could have been better in the summer that she was about to go up to Princeton, one of the most prestigious American universities. But things change unexpectedly when she finds a letter from her mother, who has run away from home for no reason, taking Ben. Beck withdraws into herself: she never wants to be hurt by anyone again. At college she meets Dimitri, the captain of the football team: he is the classic jock with broad shoulders and a decisive gait, who always knows what to say and how to say it. Beck doesn’t want to be just another freshman falling at his feet, only to be forgotten. And so she tries to get to know him from a distance. Soon, however, it is clear that behind his confident smile, Dimitri hides a struggling heart and painful moments that have struck his family. Both would like to go back in time and change the course of events…and, bound by the same shadows, can no longer reject their passion. Only together will they find the courage to face the truth about their past.
