In this workshop will demonstrate the main techniques of Cyber Intelligence, in particular how Social Media and data collected by Social Media Intelligence are used to prevent crime and protect society. These instruments can be used to monitor the social fabric, identify and intervene promptly in the case of any situations or events that could be dangerous or violent, such as terrorism, vandalism, racism, bullying and behaviours that cause damage to property or persons. We will be presenting the main techniques used to acquire data from online sources, before being prepared for further analysis – for example, using data mining techniques and social network analysis. Specific Cyber Intelligence case studies will also be presented.
